This painting is my artistic tribute to one of the most remarkable figures of Maratha history. I have tried to portray Bajirao Peshwa not merely as a warrior, but as a symbol of vision, courage, leadership and an unyielding spirit.

The iconic Shaniwar Wada emerging from one half of his face is deliberate. It represents how history, place and personality become inseparable over time. The Wada is more than an architectural landmark; it stands as a powerful reminder of an era of ambition, valour and cultural pride.

The intense gaze is central to the work. It seeks to convey the determination of a leader who looked beyond the immediate and dared to imagine a larger destiny. The warm saffron and golden tones evoke the spirit, grandeur and emotional resonance of the Maratha legacy.

For me, this painting is not simply about remembering a historical figure. It is about asking what remains after centuries have passed - the monuments may weather, the generations may change, but courage, vision and legacy continue to live in our collective memory.
